The Conversationalist
The travel stories from Montreal-native Daniel Baylis tend to lean more towards reflections on his year-long adventure around the world, rather than top-ten lists for tourists - but that's a good thing. Funny, frank and loaded with photos and videos, Baylis' tales are surprisingly relatable and his enthusiasm, courage and spirit are both inspiring and infectious.
On the road since Jan. 1, 2011, Baylis has travelled through New Orleans, Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina, South Africa and Morocco - so far. Most recently, he was working as a general labourer in the south of France, knee-deep in mortar and bricks, where he concluded that construction work is not his forte, but these kinds of skill-building, view-expending experiences are worthwhile as a means to "making ourselves better versions of ourselves." Hear, hear!
