The World Bank provides financial and technical assistance to developing countries. It is made up of two institutions owned by 185 member countries - the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA). Together they provide low-interest loans, interest-free credit and grants for education, health, infrastructure, communications and other purposes.

Applicants must: - Be under 29 years old - Hold the equivalent of a bachelor's or master's degree, or be a Ph.D. candidate Applicants are expected to have superior academic achievements that place them in the top ten percent of their graduating class. These positions require analytical and research skills in areas such as: economics, finance, human resources development (public health, education, nutrition, population), social sciences (anthropology, sociology), agriculture, environment, private sector development, as well as other related fields. Associates are not eligible for employment with the Bank for two years following the end of their appointment.

Fluency in English required and~ preferably~ in at least one other Bank language (French~ Spanish~ Russian~ Arabic~ Portuguese~ or Chinese).

This is a two-year, non-renewable contract with benefits
