Call for volunteers for MEDASSET's sea turtle Project in Lefkada island, Greece

MEDASSET

Founded in 1988, MEDASSET is an international not for profit environmental NGO registered as a charity and private company in the UK and as a Non Profit Organisation in Greece. MEDASSET plays an active role in the study and conservation of sea turtles and their habitats throughout the Mediterranean, through scientific research, environmental education, political lobbying and raising public awareness. The organisation has been a Partner to the Mediterranean Action Plan (MAP) of UNEP and a Permanent Observer-member of the Bern Convention at the Council of Europe since 1988.

Applicants under the age of 18 are not be admitted to the project.

If you are interested in the kind of volunteer work we offer, please provide MEDASSET's Environmental Education & Volunteers' Coordinator, Mrs. Konstantina Kostoula, with a full CV and two email contacts for professional or academic references at medasset@medasset.gr. Once your application is received and accepted, we will write back to you with instructions on how to arrange your travel to the project site and how to send the participation fee to MEDASSET. Your placement will be confirmed after payment is complete. Any bank or transfer charges incurred from your bank are not included in the participation cost. So please consult with your bank and add these to your payment amount.

A moderately good physical condition is required for participation on our sea turtle nesting surveys. Survey teams will walk up to five miles each morning at a steady pace but with intermediate breaks to drive between beaches.Punctuality and a positive team work spirit are necessary ingredients for an enjoyable experience for all.
